Christmas = Butterflies+Warm Fuzzies

Boy, it is so easy to get caught up in all of the holiday hoopla … especially with what seems to be a much (much) shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Where the heck have the last few weeks gone? I feel like I’ve been in a mad scramble not only keeping on top of.. read more →

Hot Damn…. My sister is hosting!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner?  I always love celebrating this particular holiday … mostly because it’s not my holiday to host!  This year for the first time we’re going to have a big family shindig at my sister’s house.  Yes, for those of you who know my sister – I.. read more →

Please tell me that I am not alone in having a love/hate relationship with photos and memorabilia. I LOVE the concept of taking pictures, keeping mementos and documenting all the precious moments. When my kids get to the point of not wanting to hang with me, I plan on diving into the boxes and albums.. read more →

Gorgeous chunks of time!

I just returned from a 3 day Conference in New Orleans with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and to be honest my head is still spinning with all that I was exposed to.   I had the opportunity to meet some super knowledgeable and inspirational organizers and productivity consultants, I learned about a number.. read more →

An Organizing Intervention

0 Comment

  Recently, I was part of an Organizing Intervention. It was somewhat impromptu but nonetheless the many friends who participated were clear and committed to their message that change was needed. The thing is … I was the one who the intervention was being performed on! I kid you not … the Design+Conquer friends took.. read more →

There’s nothing like those first warm days of the year. Suddenly, with a re-energized spirit, I open all the windows to air out my life. It feels good, but it always makes me assess my surroundings, the piles of papers and mail and outerwear that seem to blend better during the dark winter months. In.. read more →

  Raising a future professional organizer and/or opera singer. I love the Design + Conquer philosophy. “Clear the outer, calm the inner.” It’s so true. So, so true. Less physical stuff in random places means a happier, more productive life. It’s that simple. But if you’re a certain kind of person, if you’re Edy MacKenzie(8),.. read more →

Are you hard on yourself? I bet you are. I mean, if you’re reading a blog on a professional organizer’s website, then you’re probably someone who strives for betterment. Just a hunch. Well I feel for you. Life is daunting. We work so hard, every day, in hopes that it turns out well. And when.. read more →
